A convicted felon in the District of Columbia has been handed a harsh sentence for illegally packing heat in Alabama.

Robert Geiger, 47, a previously convicted felon, was sentenced to 33 months in prison for illegally possessing a loaded stolen handgun with an extended magazine.

The announcement came from U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro, who’s been cracking down on crime in the region.

According to reports, Geiger’s gun was a stolen handgun with an extended magazine, which is a clear danger to public safety.

‘The safety of our communities depends on our ability to keep guns out of the hands of felons,’ Pirro said in a statement. ‘We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those who break the law are held accountable.’

Geiger’s sentencing serves as a stark reminder that the law won’t hesitate to come down hard on those who think they’re above the law.

As a convicted felon, Geiger is prohibited from possessing a firearm. The fact that he was caught with a stolen handgun with an extended magazine only adds to the severity of the crime.

The case is a testament to the dedication of law enforcement agencies working together to keep our communities safe.
